The Molecular Detective® - ASAP Analytical Infrared Detector The Molecular Detective® is the brand name for the ASAP Analytical Infrared Detector for the Agilent GC. The Brand name Molecular Detective® was coined as name that provides a visual description of the unique capabilities of the ASAP IRD. The ASAP IRD takes on the role of a Molecular Detective identifying and confirming that an element, compound or mixture are indeed what they appear to be in terms of their definite chemical constitution. It offers true Molecular Identification. The Molecular Detective® is the only Analytical Infrared Instrument designed from the chromatographer’s point-of-view. The result is an instrument that requires a minimum of bench space with optimized, dedicated optics for highest sensitivity. The IRD software has been designed to interface with GC Software and provide instrument control, data acquisition and analysis in real time.
